Tour Packages offered by Finca Esperanza Verde (for 1 to 26 people):
1) Mountaintop Retreat - 3 days and 2 nights
2 guided walks; All about organic coffee tour and presentation; butterfly
farm visit and presentation; Camp fire with folk music group.
2) Rainforest Sampler - 4 days and 3 nights
3 guided walks; All about organic coffee tour and presentation; butterfly
farm visit and presentation; Camp fire with folk music group; Cooking
class and demonstration in the traditional Nicaraguan kitchen including
roasting coffee and making tortillas.
3) Coffee and Campesino culture exploration - 5 days and 4 nights
4 guided walks; All about organic coffee tour and presentation; butterfly
farm visit and presentation; Camp fire with folk music group; Cooking
class and demonstration in the traditional Nicaraguan kitchen includes
roasting coffee and making tortillas; Half day trip and picnic to campesino
baseball game, swimming and bird watching at the Wabule River.
4) Tropical & Migratory Bird Exploration - 5 days and 4 nights
4 guided birding walks with our naturalist guides to look for 150 species
in different areas of FEV's wet tropical forest. FEV has hosted several
bird banding operations and is the location of 2 official first sighting
for Nicaragua. Learn about how our shade grown, organic coffee cultivation
enhances bird habitat, includes a Presentation on coffee cultivation;
Butterfly farm visit and presentation, Camp fire with folk music group;
Half day trip and picnic to a dry tropical forest and river habitat near
FEV including swimming and observing numerous species of humming birds
and water fowl (seasonal) at and near the Wabule River
All packages above include:
- Lodging: Colibri cabin has 3 double rooms each with private bath
for 1 or 2 people and Loro and Tucan cabins accommodate 3 to 6 people
with bath
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinners featuring local fresh fruits,
vegetables and salads
- Beverages: Fresh fruit juices, our certified spring water and
our own organic coffee, teas (solar chilled soft drinks, beer, and wine are available for an extra charge)
5) Guesthouse Hospitality in San Ramón - 3 days and 2
nights
- Lodging: Private room
- Meals: 2 Breakfasts, 2 Lunches, 2 Dinners shared with the family
- Beverages: Coffee, tea, fresh fruit juices and purified water
included
Activities in San Ramón include:
Activites included are a morning and afternoon activity lead by members
of the local, youth Tourist Guide Club such as visit a school and if you
like share your skills with a class, visit the medicinal plant pharmacy
and garden, climb the nearby mountain with view of the town, bird watching,
visit a local waterfall and swimming hole, have a talk from one of the
town elders about the history of San Ramón and Nicaragua and, finally,
if there is a game in town, attend a baseball game at the stadium.
For groups of 5 to 15 included are a choice of the activities above plus
a cooking class where you will make Nacatamales (the Nicaraguan style
tamale) and then have dinner, a jewelry workshop with local artists, music
performances by 2 bands one traditional music other contemporary and visit
a coffee cooperative with a swimming pool. (Note: guides have limited
English skills.)

- FEV recommends that reservations be made more than 90 days in advance
during December through April

- 20% Payment is due at the time of reservation, 50% a minimum of 30
days in advance and 100% is due 15 days in advance at our office in San
Ramon, OR
- In Nicaragua by depositing directly in Finca Esperanza Verde’s
bank account
- FEV does not have credit accounts or accept credit cards, personal or
traveler’s checks.
- How to use PayPal: 1) go to the PayPal web site www.paypal.com;
2) log in (you need to create an account on the site); 3) click on "Send
Money"; 4) for the payee/recipient's email address enter "info@san-ramon.org"
and the amount you are paying.
- 30 days notice or more: 100% refund
- 15-29 days notice: 50% refund
- 14 days notice or less: no refund
Policy regarding children, guides and tour leaders
- Children under 3 years of age stay free. Children 3 through 11 years
old pay half-price for lodging, food and activities.
- One guide or tour leader per group who is an employee of the tour operator
may stay at FEV for free, however they must pay for food.
